Affordable IFS sessions in Singapore

Private counselling in Singapore often costs S$100 to 230 a session. As part of my supervised Master of Counselling practicum, I offer IFS-informed sessions at a reduced fee.

What are supervised sessions?

Counsellors in training see clients as part of their course, and a qualified supervisor reviews their work. You get the same care and confidentiality as a private session, at a lower fee.

In my case that means IFS-informed sessions while I complete my Master of Counselling, with every case reviewed by Shila Naidu of Safe with Shila. It's how counsellors learn, and it gives you a second experienced pair of eyes on your work together.

Is it right for you?

A good fit if

  • You're an adult in Singapore
  • Private fees are out of reach
  • You can meet in person

Not the right fit if

  • You're in crisis

What happens in a supervised IFS session?

The first few sessions

We start with what brought you here. In IFS-informed work I'm curious about the different "parts" of you: the one that worries, the one that pushes you to keep going, the one that would rather not talk about it at all. We don't force anything. You decide what we look at and how fast.

What I'll ask of you

  • Come to sessions in person, weekly or fortnightly

  • Let me know if something we try doesn't feel right

  • Agree that I discuss your case, without your name, in supervision

How it differs from a private session

The approach and the confidentiality are the same. What's different is that my work is reviewed by a qualified supervisor, Shila Naidu, as part of my Master of Counselling. Read more about how IFS therapy works or about anxiety and stress counselling.

How it works

  1. Complimentary intro call – you tell me what you'd like help with, and we check it's a fit.

  2. Sessions in person – we go at your pace, and nothing is pushed before you're ready.

  3. Review as we go – we check in on how it's going and decide together how many sessions you need.

Questions before you book

Why are your fees lower than most?

⌄

I'm in the supervised practicum stage of a Master of Counselling at Flinders University, with my work reviewed by Shila Naidu of Safe with Shila. My fee reflects that stage of training. For comparison, private counsellors in Singapore typically charge around S$100 to 230 a session.

Is it safe to see a counsellor in training?

⌄

Yes. Supervised clinical practice is a required part of counsellor training, and my work is reviewed by a qualified supervisor.

Is IFS safe if I've been through trauma?

⌄

IFS goes at your pace. We don't go into painful memories unless you're ready, and you can pause at any time. If you're dealing with severe trauma or dissociation, I'll discuss it with my supervisor and may refer you to a more experienced IFS therapist.

Are sessions online?

⌄

Not for now. Supervised IFS sessions are in person, in Singapore.
