SOUND FAMILIAR?
You know The Work. Some thoughts still won't let go.
You've done the turnaround, and the thought is back by morning.
You know it isn't true. Your body still reacts as if it is.
Part of you won't even look at the question.
The same person keeps getting under your skin.
Often a thought sticks because a part of you needs it. That part wants to be heard before it can let go.
HOW THE TWO FIT TOGETHER
Inquiry for the thought, parts work for whoever holds it
The Work asks whether a stressful thought is true. IFS asks which part of you believes it, and what it's protecting. When a part feels understood, it often relaxes enough to let the inquiry land. [TBC: Deepa to describe her approach in her words]
IN A SESSION
We might start with a thought you've written on a worksheet. When something won't shift, we pause the questions and get curious about the part that's holding on, then come back to the inquiry.
WHAT WE WORK WITH
01
The thought
The stressful belief, written down and questioned.
02
The four questions
Is it true? Can you absolutely know? How do you react? Who would you be without it?
03
The part
Whoever in you needs the thought, and what it's afraid would happen without it.
04
The Self
The calm, curious you that can hold both.

QUESTIONS
What people ask before booking
Do I need to know The Work already?
⌄
It helps. These sessions are designed for people who have practised The Work and want to go further. If you're new, I'd suggest starting with sessions in The Work alone.
Do I need to know IFS?
⌄
No. I'll introduce the idea of parts as we go. Most people already talk this way ("part of me wants to...").
How is this different from doing The Work alone?
⌄
The Work questions the thought. When a thought keeps coming back, IFS turns to the part of you that holds it, and asks what it's protecting. [TBC: Deepa's description]
Is it online?
⌄
Yes, sessions are on Zoom, so you can join from anywhere.
Is this therapy?
⌄
No. It's facilitation using two methods of self-inquiry. It isn't a substitute for medical or psychiatric care, and if you need that, I'll help you find the right support.
How many sessions will I need?
